Fall is upon us and October is a month where a lot of news comes from Microsoft. In this blog post I have focused on the new features coming to Dynamics 365 for Talent in October.
Attract
Attract is the recruitment module of Talent, it’s closely linked to LinkedIn and allows you to find the right person with the right qualifications for the job. In this release it’s very clear that the focus has been mainly on Attract, which is where most of the news has come.
Candidate profile
More information is registered about the candidate and candidates can also update their profile based on their LinkedIn profile. This allows more data about the candidate to be registered in an easier and more streamlined manner. The managers can choose which data they want to track to show the complete profile for the candidates.
Dashboards and notifications
New dashboards will give a better overview and deeper insight to the process of the different roles in the company. The idea is to easily guide users who need attention, show trends or other relevant information. It will provide an overview of notifications you should respond to in order to get the process forward. New search functionality will make it easier to search by having a deeper intelligente understanding of keywords and phrases.
Extensions
Attract finally becomes part of the Common Data Service from the October release. This means that you can create extensions with PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, Office Forms, Microsoft Stream and much more. For example, using PowerApps or Office Forms to use a set of questions to be asked to the candidate during an interview to ensure that company guidelines are followed during the interview.
Templates, branding and offer management
You can create templates with your companies branding and send offers directly from Attract. You can even use electronic signature so that the candidate can accept the offer electronically and start directly on the onboarding-process. This means that administrators can create custom templates for documents and offers that are styled correctly in relation to the company profile. There will be a version management to keep track of changes in the templates.
LinkedIn Recruiter
Attract and LinkedIn Recruiter gets even closer together for users which have a license for both. It will be even easier to find potential candidates in LinkedIn Recruiter and link them to a job in Attract, then you will also see the history of the candidate from Attract that has occurred in the Recruiter or feedback made after an interview registered in Attract will appear in Recruiter.
Talent pool
In my eyes, this is one of the most important updates in Attract in October. Candidates you have already contacted in connection with other jobs or which have submitted an application to you can be placed in a “pool” and can be used for later jobs. You will then get a pool of potential candidates and can use the system to see what was registered on the candidates earlier, why they did not get the previous job, or if this is a job that will be better suitable for them. In October there will also be a preview on AI that will be able to recommend candidates who are in the pool and could fit for jobs created in the system. The artificial intelligence is trained on feedback from both the candidate and recruits and is getting better each time you use it.
Onboard
In Onboard, the new onboarding team is the biggest change. It will be used to easily define different teams that will share content, reporting and team collaboration. Guides and emails are automatically shared across the team. In December you get auto-save for onboarding and January will be released integration with checklists in Core HR – just start looking forward to the changes coming here!
Common Data Service
Until now, Core HR has been on the Common Data Service (CDS), similar to CRM (Customer Engagement) and AX (Finance and Operations). In October both Attract and Onboard will be available in CDS. This makes it possible to integrate these with other systems. For example, jobs and processes can be synchronized between Core HR and Attract. Something that makes recruiters unable to enter Core HR to find all the details about jobs, the information can be directly synced to Attract.
